Hey Peachie, how you doin?!

Plums - the name of this cafe was originally inspired by the pet name "Peach" which owner Kim Jorgenson picked up from a pimp while waitressing in LA. Plums seemed a little too racy, so she opted for a sweeter name in the fruit family. She hails from Oregon which is a pseudo hometown of mine (lived there from 5th - 7th grade), so I think we have a connection there...

Anyways, the cafe is a nice sanctuary to the crazy 17th street of Costa Mesa, and they serve some delicious breakfast foods. Once my co-worker and I went out to Plum's at 9:30 in the morning to grab ourselves Dungeness Crab and asparagus omelettes. Which then ensued a weekly craving for Plums.

So here I am with some old roommates... just having ourselves some fun!

That's my Alderwood Smoked Salmon Hash with poached eggs and hollandaise.

That is the infamous Dungeness Crab and Asparagus Omelet... including E and her bling!

M's Santa Fe Eggs Benedict on a fresh baguette.

Oh and they do have Mimosas, although I couldn't stomach having one at 8 in the morning. Instead I had an English Breakfast tea with fresh leaves ...

*I apologize for the blurry photos, I'm still learning the art of taking a still photo.....

Place is the bomb... You also need to try Sabatino's in Newport. It's Italian and has a different flair.
